2024 FTC Ruling: New Ban on Non-Compete Clauses
Update (August 20, 2024): A federal judge in Texas has nullified the FTC’s proposed rule banning noncompete agreements across the U.S. In her ruling, Judge Ada E. Brown stated that the FTC lacked the authority to impose such a broad prohibition and that the rule was excessively sweeping.
